When
The Group was reorganized in 1998 various subcommittees of the South
African Group where identified to achieve the following objectives:
- To
develop & grow a member group that assists, informs and represents
Southern Africans residing in, or who wish to reside in, or indeed
have an interest in, Dubai & The United Arab Emirates
- To
provide a networking forum for members with vested interest in
business
- To
be a contact point for Southern African companies interested in
doing business in the Gulf or visa versa
- To
create a "Brain Reserve" - from members with expertise,
skills or contacts in specific areas or professions
- To
monitor economic, business or political developments in the UAE
and Southern Africa, that may be of interest to members
- To
provide a vehicle of dialogue for members, i.e. Business Luncheons
/ Dinners, Newsletter, SA Website
The
Committee will continue to work towards these objectives. A close
alliance exists with the South African Embassy in the U.A.E. and
we will continue to explore avenues to achieve these objectives
either formally through the South African Group or appropriate alliances
and subgroups.
